Thank you to everyone who helped make not only December but all of 2018 such a productive year for Embracing Our Veterans!
We made a great connection with C & J Automotive who made it possible for Embracing Our Veterans to pick up and deliver furniture with a UHaul truck for Veterans in need while our volunteer's vehicle was out of use.
Thank you, Senior Helpers, for a successful 2018 Drive to Survive! Donors dropped off non-perishable foods, clothing, household items, bedding, children's toys, and gift cards off at the Senior Helpers office on State Street. We were also able to connect with a donation of furniture through the event.
Our community partners helped us to find transportation for a veteran in need of transportation to Pittsburgh for a medical appointment and helped us assist a veterans' family to cover funeral costs.
Embracing Our Veterans, once again, teamed up with the Sight Center of NWPA Wednesday Group to gather gifts for veterans. These gifts were delivered by our board member and group facilitator Susan McNeish, her service dog, and friend to veterans at the Erie VA Medical Center.
Thank you to all of our generous donors this month, including Modern Employees Community Fund and Interim Healthcare!
Thanks to our donors, we were also able to deliver Christmas Angel boxes to over 40 veterans and their families as well as toys for our Gold Star family's children. Boxes included a handmade blanket, food items and a gift card for Christmas dinner, and more. Families with children received gifts for the kids. Thank you to our volunteers, Randy, Tina, and Richard Schiefelbein, Heather, Mr. Lee, Ms. Brandon, and Kelly, for all of your help!
We are so blessed to have so many amazing supporters. We could not do our work without your help!
